Wisteria Tea Room

Wisteria Tea RoomLocated off the downtown beaten path is a real gem of a dining experience known as the Wisteria Tea Room and Café.  The remodeled 1919 Florida bungalow is the perfect setting for this unique dining experience. While the experience is centered in delightful teas, it is so much more than that. If you are not a tea drinker, they do have other options. The décor is sweet, cozy, light and airy. It is just perfect for the wonderful experience ahead. The service is friendly, and they make you feel comfortable and at home.

We had a difficult time choosing so we opted for the Royal Tea ($29.95). It includes a choice of soup or Wisteria House Salad and a tiered tray with a delicious fresh scone served with Devonshire cream, savory tea treats, delectable mini tea desserts with fresh fruit garnish and an endless pot of tea.

For the tea we chose the Orange Vanilla White Chocolate – Black tea, white chocolate (sugar, coco butter, milk powder, soy lecithin, natural vanilla), orange peel, natural flavors. Each sip was a burst of flavor and it was well blended so that no one flavor overpowered the other.

Wisteria Tea RoomFor the soup we had the Wild Rice and the Chilled Strawberry. Omg these soups were over the top delish. The wild Rice was busting with flavors that dance on your taste buds. If you love strawberries, this soup was like having fresh strawberries in each spoonful. Once we finished our soups, they brought out the 3-tiered tray.

The first tier had the Hot Artichoke Spinach White Cheddar Tart – a wedge of quiche, Chicken salad in a shell, Cucumber finger sandwich and the Creamy Homemade Baked Mac and Cheese topped with bacon buttered breadcrumbs. It is a good thing each was a tasting because they were all outstanding. Who would think that a cucumber finger sandwich could taste so good? If you like Mac and Cheese, then this is a must have. The Chicken salad I wished they sold that to go because it is the best in Fort Myers.

The next level were the berry scones with Devonshire Cream. These scones were authentic. I will take 3 to go please. The last level was the dessert level. Chocolate Crème Brule, an Orange and cream cheese filled cake and a Blueberry crumb square.  We barely had room to finish the desserts.

Wisteria Tea RoomWhen the owner Bobbie Schwartz said that they serve “English Tea with a Southern Flair” she really means it. They have southern hospitality down to an art form and the food is all fresh and homemade in house and it shows in the flavors.  If you have not ever been to the Wisteria Tea Room than add them to your list as you will not be disappointed.

They also have a small gift shop located in the front of the restaurant and another cute store “Shoppe Around The Corner” next door.   So be sure to stop in and see al the cute boutique items they have.

Overall Rating: An experience you won’t soon forget!
