Tramontana’s Italian Grill is located on Palm Beach Blvd in the Shops at the Verandah east of I-75. They have been there for about 10 years and are a bit of a secret to those of us who are not from that area of Fort Myers. Judging from the amount of business they have and the familiarity with their customers, they are well thought of in that area.
Tramontana’s has dine in seating, outdoor seating, take out and a full bar. The décor is warm and inviting. They have booths as well as tables. They also serve food at the bar for those who wish to dine at the bar. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by their hostess Cindy. She promptly took us to our seats and offered to take our drink orders. Our server Andrea was super sweet, friendly, and efficient. You can tell she loves what she does. After our meal was over, the owner John came over to ask us how our meal was. We chatted a bit and discovered we all had much in common. We noticed they staff often knew the customers by name giving it that family neighborhood feel.
The menu has some rather unique items like Italian Meatloaf and the Cioppino (Seafood Stew) that you do not find in most other Italian Restaurants…Well at least we have never seen those dishes elsewhere. We settled on the Chicken Francaise ($17) and the Linguini with White Clam Sauce ($19) which they will serve spicy. Both entrees were excellent. The white clam sauce could of used a bit more spice/garlic for my taste but I know I will just have to for that next time. Otherwise, it had a well balance flavor to it. The Chicken Francaise was delightful, with just enough lemon. The chicken was perfectly cooked. My dining partner said it was the best in Fort Myers.
For dessert we opted for the homemade (in house) Tiramisu. It is just perfection. Light, creamy, and just the right amount of coffee. Too often Tiramisu is runny because the lady fingers are over soaked. If you are a tiramisu fan, then you will want ogive theirs a try.
For those of us who are not aware of what dining options are available east of I-75, this is truly a hidden gem. We are glad we discovered just how good this restaurant is. It is well worth the trip out Palm Beach Blvd.
Overall rating: Ottimo!
